The Famous Foie Gras in France

I’ve tried the goose liver couple times in Napa before, but never have any special favorite to it except knowing that is expensive. We visited a foie gras specialty store in Paris named Le Petite Scierie. Their product is 100% nature and it’s made from this family owned farm. We bought an affordable 32-euro bottle and made 4 sandwiches to share with Gilbert and Amy. Yum! Yum! This gave me a whole different taste of goose/duck liver. The sandwich has nothing, but a thick layer of foie gras. With the crispy French bread, the foie gras melt in our mouth. The taste was so rich, yet not too filling. Uhmmm! Delicious! This is a well-worth expensive sandwich.

PIERRE HERME - heavenly good

This pastry shop is hiding between the brand name boutiques. Gilbert says he will bring us to the voted #1 pastry shop. The shop needs no other decoration with all the colorful pastries. It's just too much selection. We bought a chocolate crescent and a piece of cake that has a piece of rose on top. The chocolate crescent was still warm, it’s so crispy and the chocolate inside is soft and rich. #1 is definitely belongs to that. The better is yet to come…but I don't know how to use word to describe our satisfaction with that other piece of cake. The top and bottom layers are like napoleon pastry (crispy). The middle is berry mousse and fresh raspberry. You can also feel the taste of rose in every bite. Wow, that is heaven! That is the best! All other pastry shops worth nothing after you try Pierre Herme first. That's why we made a 2nd trip to try their famous macarons. That was so delicious too!

Water is like Gold in Europe

We are in break between all the walking and dinner time. When we are in the States, I always take only a couple sips on my "FREE" icy cold fresh water in the restaurants thru the whole meal. Yet, a bottle of H2O may cause up to 6 euro at the restaurants in Europe. Knowing the value of every little drop, I made sure we will "down" the whole bottle before we leave. Now I learn to appreciate water much more.

Pocket thief

We are still in Rome. We already knew that we have to be very careful of our wallet in our trip in Europe. We caught the Metro in rush hour this am on our way to the Colosseo. The train was pretty packed when everyone tried to catch the train. The doors closed, and an american guy in our next door entrance shouted out "someone just stole my wallet". The cart is still full of people, but he pointed at a girl and said "give me my wallet back". The gal ignored him at first, but everyone were looking at them. The guy shouted again "give me my wallet back right now! POLIZIA! POLIZIA!". The gal throw his wallet on the ground, he picked up and checked nothing got taken out. At the same time, the train arrived at the next station, the gal got off the train with her partner who carried a backbag. I'm sure her friend is her receiver, yet the guy were very cautious and he actually felt his wallet came out of his pant's front pocket and he's lucky that he can get it back. After this incident, we are super highly suspicious of everyone. Everybody is a THIEF.

Day light saving

I am so excited about the early adjustment of day light saving this year. Maybe many of us will be sad about the 1 less hour for sleep, but I am really happy about it. The wet & cold season just makes me feel so boring and unattached to the reality. The cooler and wetter it gets, the more I hate being here. I belongs to Asia...where's hot and sweating...the little small place - HK. Ah...I miss u.

Sunday Lunch @ 12:30

Sunday lunch @ 12:30 with my family and grandma is a routine for me. I'm so sick of waiting for my brother's family to show up. Grandma got out from Sunday whorship at around 12:15. Instead of having her waits and wanders around Chinatown, I try to schedule lunch with everyone @ 12:30. Is it really that differcult to be on time? How come it has to be at least 30 to 45 minutes late every single time. Before the baby, I will voice out my anger, yet no improvement of course. After Sky arrived, I guess baby always has unexpected poo poo right before the minute you try to walk out the door. I try to control myself, but I just can't act like I don't mind about the late. I'm sure my family suffers from my attitude and "eat shit" face, but seeing them coming in late and act like nothing's wrong just drives me crazy. The worst is my grandma wouldn't eat and keep looking toward the entry way until they show up. AAAAARHHHHHHHH! As always, my response to handle them is to LEAVE when I'm finished with my lunch. Well, but what's the point to have quality time with my family when I actually pissed everyone off with my frustration.

Esther ROCKS!

Finally…finally we rec’d the 惡魔在身邊 DVD. I checked with Emily and Vincent everyday if they rec’d the package…finally we GOT it. I wanna just make a copy at first, but I gotta have my own set after seeing the package of the DVD. I read everything on the cover, from top to bottom, from outside to inside… so lovely. We discovered that there are “far shey” on disc 7 but Vincent & Owen were so mean…they wouldn’t let us watch it last night. But Emily and I decided to watch together on Friday night…it’s gonna be a long night, but super enjoyable.
Emily was kind enough to ask Esther to buy another set for me. They are the best. Esther ROCKS!!!
