Reno/Lake Tahoe on Independence Day Weekend

It was our 2nd year spending the Independence Day weekend at Reno/Lake Tahoe. Haley slept through half of the ride on the way there. Haley was so excited after we checked in at the hotel. We got upgraded to a suite and Haley went around as soon as we entered the room. She was fascinated by the light switches on the floor, the safe box, the radio, the sofa, the drawers...actually she had to explore everything in the room.

Haley knew it was special as she knew that she would sleep with mommy and daddy when we were not home. She slept between us, but soon she invaded all mommy's space. As expected, daddy was the first one to fall asleep, and he had all the room he needed to sleep comfortably because Haley squeezed mommy all the way to the other edge of the bed. We requested two queen beds originally so daddy can sleep on one, and Haley and I can sleep on the other. Unfortunately they are out of the queen beds room, that's why we got to upgrade to a suite. Sleeping with Haley on my side is always a sleepless nights for me. I worried that she would roll off the bed, too hot or too cold. However, mommy sure enjoys having Haley next to me, looking at her while she's sleeping and listening to her breathing sound.

We went swimming at the pool the next morning. We all had fun in the water with Haley. We drove to Lake Tahoe for the fireworks show again this year. We finished dinner early and found a perfect spot to watch the fireworks. Mommy prepared snacks and games for Haley while we waited. Haley was too excited to see the crowd. The beach was packed with people. Then the fireworks began! Haley was scared when it first started because of the explosion sound of the fireworks. I explained to her that the fireworks were like flowers and stars in the sky. She enjoyed sitting on mommy's lap watching the fireworks. When she woke up the next morning, she kept saying "花花" and "星星".

We left early the next morning to avoid traffic heading home. We stopped at Old Sacramento for lunch and Haley slept through the rest of the ride. This is such a wonderful vacation before 細細O joins our family.
