Tax Nightmare

I wonder who actually created this whole tax filing system. So many deadlines, so many forms... thanks to Emily...finally finished all these 1099s, 1096s, 911s, 411s, 999s... just drives me nuts. The next step is the REAL tax return...the worst part is writing that check to IRS. so depressing!

Devil beside You

Emily & I finished the whole serie of "Devil beside You" in one weekend. We are so crazy about this romantic drama. We laughed, we giggled and we were in tears. Oh gosh! This movie made us turned in teens again. We are so silly, but we can't stop ourselves. Our friends, our parents and our husbands just couldn't stand us any more. I just can't get rid of the scenes and the lyrics off my head. After discussing so much with Esther and Emily about this drama. I had a dream last night. "Esther, Emily and myself were on the boat together, we were trying to escape from something, but the wave in the ocean were so strong, our boat was broken apart. I grabbed their arms and tried to stay on the boat. Our boat finally callapsed, yet we were able to land on a train (doesn't make sense, but oh well, it's a dream). Afterall, I found out it was Wong Yu Yung from 183 club who made the illusion of the storm in the ocean." I woke up after that. Uhmm, I wonder if there's any meaning to my dream. so wired.

南京大層殺 / Rape of Nanjing

“Between December 1937 and March 1938 at least 369,366 Chinese civilians and prisoners of war were slaughtered by the invading troops. An estimated 80,000 women and girls were raped; many of them were then mutilated or murdered. THE SAVAGERY OF THE KILLING WAS AS APPALLING AS ITS SCALE. Thousands of victims were beheaded, burned, bayoneted, buried alive, or disemboweled. Faithfulness

We heard on the news that the San Francisco Mayor Newson had an affair with his campaign manager's wife. Since marriage is also a binding contract between husband and wife, each individual should be commited to the person who they married. I think the government should make it illegal for people who cheated during their marriage. You may think the person who got cheated has a choice to divorce the other person. However, this person may still have financial responsibility to the person who cheated on them. Under the California marriage law, whoever has a higher income will have to pay alimony to the other. The issue of fidelity won't even come up in the marriage court. IS THIS FAIR? Why would an indiviual get penalized for nothing he/she has done. In my opinion, the government should impose some sort of punishment on these people. I'm not saying they should serve jail time because this will just cause more financial problems for the society. Perhaps, community services would be a good idea. What do you think on this issue?

Are you interested in volunteering?

It's been a long time since the last time we volunteered at the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
The Food Bank is only open on selected Saturdays for food sorts. The next scheduled weekend dates are February 24, March 10, March 24, April 14, April 28, May 19, June 2 and June 23. Volunteers screen, sort, box and shelve donated food products, label cans and repackage donated food.
Shifts: 9 am-noon and 1-4 pm. Located at 7900 Edgewater Drive in Oakland.
