Celebrating new year eve

After many parties with friends and family, we decide to celebrate New Year Eve at home, quietly and peacefully.  We went visit the pet store before dinner time.

Haley and Chester learned a little trick during dinner time.

 2nd treat bag is an airplane model.

They didn't make it to the 3rd and 4th treat bags as they looked so tired and I made them go to bed.  Maybe next year we can consider counting down at New York time.

Christmas eve family dinner

My parents are away in Hong Kong this year and we missed spending Christmas eve with them.  However, we have some special guests (姨婆，表姑姐，表姑丈) from Hong Kong this year.  Haley and Chester is blessed to have so much love from everyone.  It was a warm and peaceful Christmas eve until Chester performed a stunt rolling down the stairs.  His act scared everyone but we thank God for protecting him.  He didn't hurt himself.

It wasn't easy to stop Chester and Haley from eating all the candies when we decorated it.  They were so excited and they kept licking their fingers after touching the frosting.

Operation Christmas Child

Back in November, we participated in the mission of Operation Christmas Child.  We packed little gifts in a shoe box and it will be sent to a child who needed it.  http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/  

Haley was excited in gathering things like notebook, stickers, pencils...  When we went over the items before putting them in the box, Haley became sad and asked why can't she keep all of them.  

 After explaining to her that she is blessed with many toys while the needed child may not have anything.  She then gratefully put in everything and ready to drop it off at the center.

 Couple days ago, we got an email with a photo of the child in Philippines received Haley's box.
