刷牙獎勵計劃

小小雲已經有很多牙齒了！是時候由BB的膠牙刷轉成小朋友用的毛牙刷了！先讓她看看媽媽如何刷牙，然後給她牙刷試試，當然她是咬牙刷多過刷牙啦！起初她拒絕讓媽媽幫她，怎樣也不開口。後來Stephanie姨姨提議用獎勵計劃，每次刷牙後，她的獎品就是一張貼紙。幾天來一早一晚，小小雲也很合作啊！

THIS IS IT!!!

The quitting of morning nursing is considered done. Haley doesn't cry for mommy's milk in the morning, and she is pretty comfortable with the morning drill. Just two more days, she will be 17-month old. Maybe tonight is the night to stop the night time feeding? Maybe I can push back a little more? Mommy is so wishy-washy.

Daddy, mommy and Haley were all in her room, as usual we played around and read some books. I hided the Boppy pillow from her sight and placed her favorite baby doll (仔仔) on her bed. I asked her where 仔仔 was. She saw 仔仔 on the bed and she pointed to it. I told Haley, "不如媽媽抱你上床，搵仔仔，順便瞓覺豬啦!" She then said, "抱抱" to me. I put her in bed, turned on the mobile and music. I said to her, "night night", and she gave me a 飛吻 and replied back, "night night". I turned off the light and closed the door. With just two fake crying, she stopped. I went back to check on her in about 10 minutes, she was already asleep.

THIS IS IT!!! I asked Owen... I can't go back to nurse her tomorrow... I am not ready ah!!! I was depressed for the rest of the night. Thinking over and over again of her facial expression after I nursed her every time. Her expression is so fulfilling with the sweetest smile. I sure will miss it. That smile is unique, it's different from her other smiles. UHHH!! I should be happy for Haley that she's another step to be a grown up baby!

小管家，小小雲

小小雲還未滿十七個月就好有做小管家的特徵了！看見浴室門，廚櫥門未關，她便會揚聲告訴媽媽。每次上二樓前，她一定要先關上電視機。不小心倒瀉了奶奶，又會指著要抹乾。在地下拾到垃圾，就一路走到垃圾桶，一路叫著"掉掉"。想像她可以付責所有家務便好了！

但不出三秒，她又會再做。

希望好快小小雲會明白這個"知知"的真正意義吧！

Wean wean, slowly wean...

Haley is over 16-month old and I am still nursing her 2-3 times a day. One time after she wakes up, one time before her nap time, and one time before her bed time. Every morning when I walk into her room, she will say "奶奶". The one time before nap time is pretty flexible, she never demands for it when we are out. At night time, she gets used to winding down by being nursed before she goes to bed. Since the presence of 細細O, I really need to think about weaning Haley from mommy's milk.

It has been over a week now that I have stopped the morning nursing. I will take her out of her room and go downstairs as soon as she wakes up. At first, she will cry, keep saying "奶奶", and push away the bottle. After I distract her with her toys, then soon she forgets about mommy's milk, and continues to play with her toys while sipping from the bottle.

Haley is being very cooperative. She is such a good girl!

11 weeks

My belly is getting bigger and bigger everyday. I showed Haley my big belly and told her there is a baby in mommy's belly. I asked her to come kiss the little baby, and she did it over and over again... I wonder if she understands what I am telling her???

New living setting for Grandma

Grandma was discharged from the nursing home today, and moved to an assisted living facility. It's a more independent living setting, yet still have services like providing meals, housekeeping, and medication assistance. Grandma likes the environment and we think it will be a better living arrangement for everyone. Thanks to God for having everything planned for her and our family.

Stephanie gave birth to her 3rd girl today. She is such a beautiful baby. Give thanks to God for her smooth delivery and health of both mommy & baby.

病倒了

近日天氣忽冷忽熱，小小雲不小心，病倒了！是她第一次感冒！半夜發現她發燒101度，弄醒她吃藥後，她竟變得異常抗奮，在房間玩至零晨三時才再入睡。小小雲的免疫系統還算好，第二天便沒有再燒了！剩下小小鼻水要為她抹啦！小朋友患病，媽媽跟她一樣苦啊！

媽媽今天要操刀幫小小雲剪頭髮啦！媽媽係初哥，加上小小雲嘅不合作，手起刀落！噢！太短啦！小小雲變左個河童呀！個樣好似即刻唔同左，百厭左好多呀！

細細O，你好嗎？

It's been a long wait to finally get to meet you today. Mommy, Daddy and your big sister were all here. Haley got grouchy as soon as she saw the nurse coming in the room, so I explained to her that this visit was not for her, but for mommy. She began to cry when she saw the nurse getting mommy's blood pressure. Wow! I was surprised that Haley actually worried about mommy too. I felt that our heart are linked (心連心). I kept telling her that the nurse was not hurting mom, and mommy was smiling the whole time so Haley learned that mommy's not in pain.

The OB examined me and she decided to do an ultrasound as she thought my belly is pretty big. Owen and I were in a long silence when she said she had to double check that there's only one baby in me. Both of us got relieved after she confirmed that it's no twins. 細細O looked so big in the monitor, and we can already see the legs. We also got to hear the heart beat...it is such an amazing feeling...and reminded how excited we were the first time we heard that "choo choo" train sound of Haley's heart beat.

I explained to Haley that she's looking at her younger siblings...of course she doesn't quite get the idea, but she was well behaved through the whole visit (thanks to all the yummy snack to keep her busy).

We will be back in a month to check on 細細O again. Meanwhile, enjoy being in mommy's belly... listening to mommy, daddy, sister's voice everyday in our daily life.

Easter Sunday

Haley recognized the nursery as soon as we entered the church this morning. She held onto me and made sure I was not going anywhere. I gave her some raisins and another little boy came in the room at the same time. Haley got distracted so Owen and I left to the worship. After one hour of service, we went back to pick her up... Wow! She wasn't crying and she was busy playing toys. The teacher said that she cried a little bit after we both left, but shortly after she started to wander around the toys. I called her name, she took a look at me then she continued with her toys. YEAH! She did it. She did it. Hopefully she will keep it up!

拖媽媽去街

Grandma fell...

Grandma has been in the healthcare center for over a month now, and she recovers very well. From depending on a wheelchair to now walking around with just the cane. The nurse called today saying grandma fell and hit her head this afternoon. She seemed fine, but the doctor still recommended to send her to the ER for further check up. I rushed to the San Leandro Hospital, and grandma looked ok. They did a CT scan on her brain and inspected her skull, and everything looked fine. It was only a 4 hour visit @ the ER today. The doctor decided to release her, yet continue monitoring @ the healthcare center. Grandma had no complaint of headache or anything, except a big bump on her head. Falling can cost serious injury especially for seniors. Thank God for the fortune out of this accident.
